NTF has identified that in order to pro-actively lower crime across the U.K, we need to not only assist and advise potential victims of crime, but also to place a much needed focus on assisting and advising our new generation of young people, who are both potential criminals and more so potential victims of crime.

Our research shows us that many mechanisms of intervention to support socially excluded young people can only be accessed through the criminal justice system. We see this as a failing to our young people, as criminalising obviously creates many barriers to one’s life, including, self-esteem, future employment, life prospects and barriers to the communities in which they live. We believe a large percentage of crime can and must be cut through early intervention during the transition to adulthood.

We understand that young people often face negative press and can be quickly stereotyped, when in fact the majority of young people have a positive impact on our society.

To counter-act this approach we have launched six campaigns this year which both empower and provide support to a target age group of 13-25 year olds.
